GO Bokke!!!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

GO Bokke!!!

As some of you might know, the rugby world cup is currently nearning its end, with the final being tomorrow night.

England and South Africa will play for the Webb Ellis Cup.

Obviously I'll be shouding at the top of my lungs for South Africa, may rub the English into the ground again!

Bokke? I thought they were the Springboks?

Post Fri Oct 19, 2007 10:27 am

It's shortened to "bokke"

Post Fri Oct 19, 2007 10:34 am

oh puh-leeese, P Johnny Wilkinson's going to hoof your lot all the way back to Umboto Gorge! While I'm no great rugby fan (Not rugby union anyway, middle class game played by southern Hooray Henrys that makes no sense, unlike Rugby League which is a proper sport played by the Northern working classes) naturally when playing the Umboto Gorge 2nd XI I'm thoroughly expecting England to give you a dam' good thrashing!

(akshuly I'm not altogether sure that England will win but I'm not saying that in front of Joy Adamson and her lion cubs - oh b*gger, I just did...)

Post Fri Oct 19, 2007 10:40 am

@Indy oh hang on, I see n ow what the confusion is, "Springboks" in Afrikaans is "Springbokke" from which "Bokke" then comes Guess the English will be "Boks"

@Taw...Johnny Wilkinson has a worse record in the world cup that Percy Montgomery our kicker...I think in anyway....+ there is Francois Steyn who also kicks just fine - drop goals to...

So...I say we WILL win
incidently, we visited the outskirts of the the Gorge last week, got some stuff you would love to see!
Among other things, Margaret, My bday present

Is Margaret a giraffe or a rhino?

Post Fri Oct 19, 2007 11:10 am

Margaret is a whale

Post Fri Oct 19, 2007 11:11 am

another lion cub, so I'm informed by the park keeper.

Johnny Wilkinson does NOT have a worse record than Percy Montgomery; and even if he did, at least his name isn't a joke, unlike being called "a Percy" which is what you call a player who's played really badly, because of Montgomery's incredible ability to do really well then totally screw it up with unforgivable mistakes! besides Wilko's the highest scoring player in the history of the World Cup now, having overtaken Gavin Hastings a few days ago.

We'll just see tomorrow, won't we? now go and feed your rhinos.

In general maybe not, but in the world cup....

hmm unfortunately I can't find any stats of missed and kicked over in the world cup...

But! Monty is the leading point scorer AND SA has the leading try scorer and lets not forget the 36-0 defeat you guys suffered against us last time

And Margaret is not a lion cub

Post Fri Oct 19, 2007 12:20 pm

that was then, this is now, and even though you've been doing better than us in this tournament and the world rankings, there are significant cracks in the SA line - listening to interviews from Paris and SA this week, even your own fans don't think you can do it for sure. England to some extent have some catching up to do but the gap is far, far narrower than it was.

your dad told me that she's a lion cub. you told me she's an ostritch. I think it's probably a hippo.

Post Fri Oct 19, 2007 12:54 pm

we'll have to agree to disagree till tomorrow night.

The ostrich is Albert...and if you check my bday thread you'll see nothing about a lion, only a whale.

Will work on footage tomorrow and upload...

Lol American here, don't care.

We play the real sports, like drunken barroom darts and lacrosse.

Or shopping cart racing.

Well ... It's about lions vs. jumping goats.

I mean. What type of a matchup is that?

OK. Probably the goat can jump about and avoid being mauled for a while but, really. Unless the goats leave the field of play, those lions are going to eat them up in the end, nestles pass?

Something interesting I thought of last night...in '95, the Springboks won in extra time with a drop goal, in '03 the English won in overtime with a dropgoal...
