Answer me this...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

eh...astral projection?
You mean the proverbial "out of body experience" ?
No, that actually hadn't crossed my mind. I do remember reading about that
about 30 or so years ago. I think they had an idea...but sort of missed the mark
in part due to it's limitation of physical travel.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is the concept:
I could close my eyes and visualize an "open doorway" ....
on the other side of this open doorway, I can see my destination...
and in a "leap of faith" (as it's often refered to)
take that step through the door ...
and be at my intended destination when I opened my eyes.
I could turn around and see the open doorway
from where I just came from.
Too simple, eh?
This would in effect transcend the limitations of the physical universe.
I suppose that would be called "Transcendence" or transcendental travel.
Not to be confused with Transcendental Meditation.
Forgive my Spiritual spill on this...
For those of you who believe in a Higher Power, God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit...
Just suppose that Jesus (Yeshua) was the one who proved it could be done by
setting the example. We are proclaimed as his bretheren,
this makes us kindred to the divine. Since we are bretheren,
this also means that we can tap into the "Source" .
So, he proved it could be done and also told us that we could also do it.
(It's written down in black and white Or red and white)
It got me thinking...
If I could walk on water too, what else would I do?
In short, my imagination was staggered with the possibilities!
Shoot...why bother with fortune? I can create my own worlds..
out there anywhere in the universe and travel there.
Then, when I see that all is good... Next.
People are limited in what they can do only by themselves.
So for now, it is best at our present stage of development that
we cannot yet tap into that resource until we learn wisdom.
It would be too easy to simply "will" the entire human race out of existence.
So, we are held back by design for this purpose...to learn.
One thing is certain, events were happening that were
significant enough to record them around 1900 years ago...
and further back.
Ezekial for instance? A mysterious departure at best attributed to UFO's...
but, I think he had "That" connection and probably choose a
fashionable & showy departure.
Consider mythology..perhaps there is some basis of truth in them
to have been significant enough to record them in stone.
Sorry Tawakalna, I don't mean to preach.
that's ok comrade, it was jolly interesting actually! I've had similar thoughts myself in the past, I think an awful lot of people do but don't like to talk about, after all it's highly subjective and personal, isn't it?
as to your last few points (because much of what you wrote I don't feel I can or should comment on; what you believe is what you believe, not for me to argue with you about it, not that I'm saying there's anything to argue about!) there is truth in myth - in fact all myths are true - in a sense. they either relate a historical event from a particular p.o.v., and if not, if the myth is complete fiction, it will relate a symbolic truth through allegory - after all, that's what parables are, simple easy-to-follow stories to illustrate often complex moral and religious points and observations. Most myths are that, but sometimes reading between the lines, you can sniff out what was really going on.
however, aren't we supposed to be talking about Loc's idiosyncratic cosmological theories? here's one, Loc - Black holes evaporate! what's all that about then?
You're right Tawakalna.
*cough....cough* back on subject...
I think even though the universe seems chaotic, there is more than likely
an actual order to it. Equillibrium. One star dies, another is formed.
If a black hole dissapears, surely another must be formed.
Then, if there is a finite point to this "Expanding" universe,
surely others must be contracting.
Given the example of blowing up a balloon...we see the expansion on the
surface. However, the volume inside the balloon also increases as we
add more volume to it.
However, if we tie the balloon off and then apply the principles of
thermal dynamics...
we can see that although the volume inside the balloon remains constant,
the surface expands or contracts in proportion to the thermal activity within it depending on the amount of heat or cold applied to it.
For instance, take a balloon inflated to 1 ft. radius and dip it in liquid nitrogen.
You'll notice the balloon contract to a much smaller size...even though the
volume of gas inside the balloon hasn't changed...but only changed in state.
it was these recent articles that got me thinking..
last gasp of a dying black hole - maybe?
black hole universe? - freaky, and sounds like shoite.
them supernovae, they were a lot brighter when I were a lad - even supernovae aren't what they used to be.
