Space stinks!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Fair point on space being empty.

But Finalday.... even for airlocks for going spacewalking... you'd be wearing a spacesuit (at least I'd hope), which is going to prevent you from smelling anything other than leftovers stuck in your beard...

Yo missin the pint

Your outside the space station in full gear, you open the hatch to enter, space dust enters with you into the airlock as there is lots of dust orbiting the earth, when air is pumped into the lock and you remove the suit, you can then smell anything that may have come in with you. Presuming the particals have an odor.

And I'll have you know, my beard would NEVER catch things and bring them in.

Apparently the space suits stink of it after they come back in from a space walk. So there has to be some form of particle floating around out there, whether it's coming from the space craft/station or not, who knows.

I think they are just smelling the adhesive from the green wallpaper
but really it maybe possible for smells to exist in a vacuum, then again it may have just been some oil or a cleaner that could smell similar to a burnt cookie

I wonder which of them was the only one smiling during the incident?

Post Wed Sep 26, 2007 6:10 pm

Okay Finalday... I see your point.

Perhaps it is some other odor from the suit. They do wear diapers you know...

What do you exactly think a smell is?

It IS a particle. It's not some magical thing, it's a particle. In our atmosphere you can smell things because the particles that your nose registers as having a smell move about - brownian motion and all that jazz.

FD's beard wouldn't catch anything, it's true; but the colony of squirrels and woodpeckers that live in it certainly do! FD's beard is an officially designated Area of Special Scientific Interest and is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Space stinks because the crystal sphere that holds in our atmosphere is getting full of pollution. This is making things more unpleasant for the turtles to carry through the void. It's rather like sitting in your own bathwater, well, except mine, because my bathwater is fragrant.

they're yellow ducks and a fish, I'll have you know! I used to have a pikachu but my daughter cut his ears off.

(fatwah on effs for possessing too sharp a wit on this occasion)

now now Pete, we can't have you issuing Fatwah's against forums members willy-nilly. there needs to be a proper tribunal and a court descision first.

Post Thu Sep 27, 2007 6:37 pm

Looks like someone is questioning your ability to independently issue fatwah's Pete. If I were a Mullah I fatwah the hell out of him for that kind of insolence.
