Tek Wars

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Tek Wars

a link repository for interesting news stories related to Tech Wars - the increasing use of sophisticated technologies in war and peace (but mostly war). and if you like these post some news from your own sources; all are welcome

I'll get it started, and I'll try to keep the number of gerbil-powered-nuke stories to a minimum hehe
Red-light Camera battles - result: cars win.
Bearbot (threatdown!)
Remote Control Implants uh....k thats a weird one.
Rapid Prototyping 3d printer bot prints copies of self. Prez inquires as to whether its alive and needs protection.
FBI cracks down on 'botherders' Points out that invasive domestic spying is solely their domain. NSA Narus operators couldn't be reached for comment.{grin}
New S-S cards biometric? - Bill Clinton expresses concern over proposal to use genital-scans.
Robot Future Poses Hard Questions. *valley girl accent* haha, like totally! - like are our new masters going to be plasticky and nonthreatening like I, Robot or metal and scary like the Terminator? *giggles*

or...Robot Helicopter Gunships (for any Brits, this isn't that silly little toy thing that the Scouse coppers are playing with, this is the full-on Terminator-style robotic hunter-killer with rockets n bombs n rebel human detectors.)

further information on the inexorable Rise of the Machines can be found here... as long as free humans can avoid Skynet. And just in case you think I'm exaggerating, Skynet is real! It is a real-life satellite interweb based command and control system, the fifth such, apparently.

personally I'll take my chances with the Apes-are-our-masters-now future, rather than the machine-dominated one that's forming now. But as the Ape Revolt never happened and dogs n cats are still with us, it looks like a 4-way pulse rifle in the 20 megawatt range will be on the shopping list this Christmas.

oh dear...Taw invades another thread

Post Sun Jun 17, 2007 2:52 am

I'm sorry, Darth Derek, but I do believe that relevant contributions were invited by the original poster, Cold_Void, and that my posting is indeed relevant to the topic under discussion? Ergo young colleague, how can said contribution be considered "invading" especially as I've only made about 6 posts in 3 months?

Sorry Taw,i was having a little joke regarding the last line of your post..sorry it didn't come across too well

that was what i was joking about lol.Personally i believe that it won't be machines or apes that will lead to our doom..it will be ourselves as a race, but perhaps that is best left to a discussion another time.....

Darth, you KNOW Taw is desperate to recruit new citizens as most of his have defected to the Rabbit and his burrow. He's just desperate

On the titleof this thread, I thought he was taking about William Shatners Books

yeh right Birdman, in yo' dreams, you old buzzard. Check out the dedicated Eskwilurx thread to see what those scwewy wabbits have been up to now!

Getting back to the point, I'm really glad CV posted this - now I can give full flow to my paranoia! Check this out, you frail organics, and see how your reptilian overlords from Saturn are already betraying you to their mechanical minions. Despite "assurances" that the killer droids won't be targeting humans, the Pentagon-based spokeslizard let slip that

“If people or property isn't a military objective, we don't target it. It might be destroyed as collateral damage, but we don't target it. Thus in many situations, we could target the individual holding the gun and/or the gun and legally there's no difference.”

Which means that as long as the killer droid targets the weapon and not the human, it doesn't really matter very much if the human gets killed - mere "collateral damage" but then we're well aware of how little that "collateral" counts for in the perverted brains of reptilian war-planners. Having said that however, they'll be less prone to go on stress-relieving rape and killing frenzies or to blatantly ignore those big orange panels that mean "I'm on your side!"

Suicide Toilet Blows Itself Up In City High Street! I can personally vouch for this one, I witnessed said toilet droid "self-terminate" and spread fear and teroor through the good folk of the Potteries (which is geographically very close to Tawakalnistan)

It's pitiful remnants, still gushing a malodorous stygian inky blue, remained on the streets for several days, before being belatedly removed by terrestrial minions of the lizard-men to whereabouts and puroses unknown.. but later there appeared a shining new toilet droid, it's harsh form in stark contrast to the gently russet-toned Victorian brickwork of Hanley, standing sentinel over enslaved humanity as if nothing had happened.

CV - you've been a victim of a perverted campaign of misinformation by black agencies of the lizard overlords. it is definitely Saturn, David Eick said so - on Wogan!

anti-Luddite infiltrator and joker! Michabo is coming, and the rabbits will no longer wear glasses on that day my friend! by the hammer of trogdor i declare it.

wanna creep someone out... why does firefox's spellchecker want to capitalize lucifer and not God?

Post Mon Jun 18, 2007 9:45 am

because "Lucifer" is a proper noun and "god" isn't (necessarily) - however, "lucifer" used to be another word for "match" (that's those little wooden sticks with phosphorous on the end that burn when you strike em against semi-coarse surfaces) in the same way the "hoover" means vacuum cleaner or "biro" means pen, but that use has fallen out of favour since the inter-war years.
